Join us under downtown's historic oaks to commemorate Baton Rouge's oldest holiday tradition. Transforming the winter sky into a wonderland, North Boulevard will be lit with half a million sparkling lights. Experience the magic beneath the 35-foot Christmas tree in North Boulevard Town Square. Enjoy free ice skating and for the first time sled down 10 tons of real snow at the Repentance Park Snow Village. Visit Santa's Gift Shop and listen to holiday music during an evening of visual, and performing arts. Don't miss the many downtown holiday open houses including Santa in the Senate at the Old State Capitol and art showings.

Santa in the Senate: Old State Capitol
The Old State Capitol’s decorations will highlight Fresh Christmas greens, berries, and garlands of fresh fruit. Garland and ribbon adorn the historic fence. Two 15-foot Christmas trees will glow with Victorian ornaments from long ago. Dozens of Poinsettia plants will fill the first and second floors and winding staircase. The Old State Capitol is open to the public free of charge. Santa in the Senate includes pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. A professional picture will be taken by Party Box Photo Booth for $10.00 in front of a 15-foot Christmas tree in the Senate chamber. Your holiday picture prints immediately.
Holiday Open House: Old Governor's Mansion
Meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus, enjoy cookies and other treats for children, in the beautiful holiday-decorated Old Governor's Mansion. Photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be posing with children for photo. Old Governor’s Mansion, 502 North Blvd. For more information call 387-2464.
LASM Holiday Shows and Shopping
Enjoy hands-on activities with Santa's elves, shopping in The Museum Store, and special planetarium showings of Let It Snow at 5:00, 7:00, and 8:00 PM. Admission is free with the donation of one new toy per person that benefits Toys for Tots. Toys may be purchased in The Museum Store. LASM, 100 River Rd. South. For more information call 344-5272.
