The Baton Rouge Blues Festival will be held on Saturday, May 7th in Repentance Park (River Center Fountains) from noon til 10 p.m. The Free to the public.

The Baton Rouge Blues Festival is one of the oldest blues festivals in America. It originated in 1980, first held on the campus of Southern University on The Bluffs – the most beautiful view of the Mississippi River in Baton Rouge. This family-friendly festival offers a full range of popular southern cuisine, including red beans and rice, fried chicken, bluesman Chicago Al’s hotdogs, jambalaya and homemade tamales.

12 Noon – 12:30 p.m. – Mr. Hinson and The Jazz Blisters
David Hinson is a strings teacher with the EBR Talented Music Program. He has played in the Baton Rouge Symphony for over 20 years. Mr Hinson and the Jazz Blisters is made up of some of the most talented high school string and rhythm section players in the area.
12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. – Sue Foley & Peter Karp
