Journey downtown to the Baton Rouge Riverfront and celebrate with us, our day of freedom. The Annual Star-Spangled Celebration activities will kick–off at 12 noon at the Riverfront Stage between the USS KIDD Veterans Memorial and Red Stick Plaza. Tour the USS KIDD Veterans Memorial * Walk the decks of one of America's most outstanding historic vessels, the USS KIDD (DD-661), and explore the Veterans Memorial Museum and learn of the sacrifices made by our nation's veterans to insure the freedoms we celebrate on the 4th.

Vendor Booths Open * Food Galore! Ice cream, pizza, hamburgers, funnel cakes & spicy Cajun cuisine. And to quench your thirst, ice cold soft drinks, beer & bottled water will be on sale. All this and so much more! Face Painting for the Kids & Bubbles The Clown! The USS KIDD will be open for touring until 3 p.m. with patriotic music broadcast until the live performances start at 3 p.m.

Air Raid Baton Rouge! * The Louisiana Air National Guard will conduct a fly-by with F-15 Eagle jet aircraft in tribute to our men and women in uniform. Immediately following, grab your helmets and take cover as vintage World War II aircraft stage a mock attack on the USS KIDD. The veteran destroyer will defend herself with her main guns. A Grand Experience!
